Extremity Injuries (Knee, Shoulder, etc.)

Extremity injuries are very common in society and for a number of reasons. Stresses at home, work or during recreational activities and many different traumatic events can lead to injuries in our extremities. Did you know that doctors of chiropractic are trained to treat many common extremity conditions such as plantar fasciitis, muscle strain, carpal tunnel syndrome, ankle sprains, shin splints, elbow tendonitis, rotator cuff injuries, knee injuries, and hip pain? The chiropractor will take a comprehensive history and examination of your complaints and then recommend a treatment plan for your diagnosis.

In some cases, they may order a nerve EMG, x-ray, MRI, or other tests to get more information about the underlying structures involved in the injury. Typical treatments for extremity injuries include soft tissue work (IASTM, massage, myofascial release), exercise rehab, physiotherapeutic modalities (muscle stim, ice, heat, etc.), manipulative therapy (adjustments), kinesiology taping, strengthening, and stretching. Home, recreational, and work ergonomic advice is another common component of treatments for these complaints. The doctors at Community Chiropractic will utilize these different methods to get your hands, arms, shoulders, feet, legs, and hips feeling better. If you or someone you know has an injury to their extremities please call our office to schedule an appointment with one of our qualified providers.
